Fatherland

A New Kindle Vellas Book Series

Written with Lee Fulkerson (“FORKS OVER KNIVES”) and Steven Feinberg (“FORTRESS”), FATHERLAND is a gripping fiction series available on Kindle Vella. The story is based on actual events in Germany during the Great Depression as the Nazis and Hitler ascend to power. Unlike many dramas depicting this time period, the focus of FATHERLAND is a normal Christian family. Yet these are not normal times…

Karl and Katherine Muller, along with their three children, are mired in a struggle to keep their heads above water amidst economic and political turmoil. Soon, they are forced to make choices that set off a chain of dangerous events—manipulation, betrayal, and murder—as the Nazi’s tighten their grasp on the world around them.

The stakes for the family’s survival are heightened with each broken promise…and every drop of blood spilled.

October Review from BookLife Prize - Ace on the Hill

Hi folks! Minor update but pleased to share… Prose: “Wesslen skillfully transports readers into a teenager's mind, exploring the angst, elation, and drudgery that often accompany adolescence. The prose convinces, painting a stirring portrayal of growing up—and the challenges that go with it.” Overall score 9.0 You can find out more and check out other books at https://www.digitalpw.com/digitalpw/20240930/MobilePagedReplica.action?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=TXPUB0240930002&utm_content=gtxcel&pm=1&folio=72#pg74

Summer check-in

Greetings family, friends, and readers! Hope this update finds you well. Perhaps you’re enjoying some travel or just a bit of down time with the family. Wherever you are, I hope you’re keeping cool! I’ve taken one trip up to the Pacific Northwest with the kids (17 and 13) and have another planned to the East Coast with my sweetheart of seven months. As I mentioned previously, Ace on the Hill will be re-released next month as a Second Edition. Do I expect you to read it or buy it again? No. But if you could all join together and give me an “Attaboy” on the count of three, that would make my day! 😅 Kidding aside, what you might appreciate is the new cover design by my original designer--the very talented Christian Bentulan. There are also some new and revised scenes which I think make this draft leaner, meaner, and utterly superior to the original. Meanwhile, I’m chugging along on my supernatural thriller, Guardian Son . My tentative pitch line is ”When we’re confronted with our innner demons, it’s never pretty.” 😱 If you’ve read any great books, please feel free to share those titles. I’ve recently finished I Will Find You by Harlan Coben and The Edge by David Baldacci. Currently I’m engrossed in Don Winslow’s City of Ruins. All fun, intriguing reads. Next up, Friends in Low Places by friend and fellow author, Vince Wetzel. Speaking of Vince, I was recently interviewed on his substack. If you’re interested, please check out the Q&A here: https://open.substack.com/pub/vincewetzel/p/script-to-page?r=2z6ghs&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web Thank you, as always, for your support. Enjoy the rest of your summer! JCW
